Programs Sponsored by LVF
Livermore Military Families
Livermore Military Families is a support group that meets monthly for families in the Livermore Valley that have loved ones serving in the Armed Forces. This group was launched in Febuary, 2010 by Tami Jenkins and Cindy Gavello, both of Livermore and both with sons serving in the U.S. Army. Need support? contact Tami at livermoremilitaryfamilies@yahoo.com or call her at 925-784-5014.
Operation Welcome Home
A Livermore project to show appreciation to our sons and daughters who are returning from duty. The veteran and their family are invited to a City Council meeting, and then presented with a proclamation by the Mayor that welcomes them home and thanks them for serving their country & their community.
School Supplies from America
This program provides much needed school supplies for children in countries where our veterans are deployed and builds trust and appreciation for our military.
Christmas-In-A-Box
Christmas in a Box is a program designed to bring Christmas to our military overseas. LVF has traditionally supported the 101st Airborne Division and other units as they have been deployed. Boxes of goodies are gathered, packed and mailed overseas for our troops. Each box will contain many different items: personal grooming needs, books, games, food snacks and other gift items. The goal of LVF is to make each recipient feel connected to home at this special time. All items are donated by our supporters and sponsors, gathered by LVF board members and packed by volunteers.
